Bifora 84/1

Description

The Bifora 84/1 is an early german pallet anchor movement, made in Schwäbisch Gmünd in the watch factory of Joseph Bidlingmaier..

This movement is classical in all aspects - not only from the craftsmanship with the slanted briges and their angled borders, but also of its construction:

The non shock-protected screw balance has got its hairspring connected to the balance cock. Its effective length can be regulated by a long regulator arm. With the pallet lever escapement and all gears beared in jewels, a good precision is guaranteed.

On the dial side, there’s a yoke winding system. On later movements, Bifora often uses a rocking bar winding system, maybe due to cost reduction.
