Förster 222

Description

The Förster caliber 222, which was launched 1969, was the most flat and advanced german selfwindig movement on the market. With a height of only 4.5mm, it was especially well suited for integration into the popular ultraflat golden mens' watches.

Technically, it was absolutely up-to-date. It beats with slow 21600 A/h and offers an instant date switch at midnight as well as a fast date correction (either by turning backwards to 21:00, or by pulling the crown). The axle-beared rotor, which was available in two different types (a normal, flat type and a more massive and higher type, called “VS”) winds the movement in both directions. The selfwindig mechanism is detached when the watch is wound manually, thus avoiding damages on daily use.

As shock protection systems for the three-leg balance, there were at least three different types available: Antichoc S 65, KIF Trior and Incabloc. The balance cock carried a moveable hairspring stud and an arm-less hairspring regulator.
