Lorsa P62

Description

The Lorsa caliber P62 is a relativly old mens' watch movement from France. It is still equipped with a Glucydur screw balance, which runs in two shock protection systems.

The equipment variant shown here was even available with 21 jewels, which means, that on the movement side, where you can see it, all bearings contained a cap jewel. On the dial side, you can still see the spaces for it, which normally should have been fitted with deck jewels, too, because otherwise it wouldn’t have reached a total of 21 jewels. If a former watchmaker just removed them, or if they have never been there cannot be verified anymore.

The movement is with its indirectly driven center second hand and its unusal arrangement of the gears quite modernly constructed, and this construction was also used in later calibers, such as the P75A.
