Reconvilier 12

Description

The village of Reconvilier is located in the swiss Jura. Since 1853 (with interruption and revival in 2006), the manufactury with the same name produces watches and movements.

The Reconvilier 12 (later renamed as caliber 2310) shown here dates from the 1940ies and is a 10 1/2 ligne pallet lever movement, which reminds of the common movements of that time, like for example the AS 676.

This movement with its classical construction has got borders for the bearing jewels.

Reconvilier 12: gear train

gear train

In the 1940ies, this gear train was state of the art: Directly driven center minute, third wheel, fourth wheel, escapement wheel.

The compensation screw balance beats with 18000 A/h and is not shock protected. It regulates a conventional swiss pallet lever movement.

Besides the interestingly shaped setting lever spring of the yoke winding system, this movement has got a round hole at 4 o’clock with unknown purpose.
