Seiko 11A

Seiko 11ASeiko 11A

Description

Besides the familiar selfwinding and large mens' watches' movements, Seiko also offeres tiny ladies' movements for their own small ladies' watches.

Such a movement is the Seiko Caliber 11A. It is technically unspectacular, since it is constructed like any other contemporary ladies' movement of that era. But in terms of quality there are noteable differences, since it was offered in different versions:

The version with 17 jewels already contained two pressed-in chatons for the anchor wheel and the third wheel. The version with 21 jewels even countained four (and maybe even more on the dial side?) shock-protected chatons. Such an impressive number of shock protections is really unique.

Common for all versions is the four-legs balance and its inhouse Diashock proctection.
