Bifora 85 S.C.

Description

One of the most beautiful ladies' watch movements by the german manufactury Bifora was the caliber 85, a 8 3/4 ligne movement with indirectly driven center second hand. The unusual part of this movement is the top brige for the seconds indication. Normally, a simple cock would have been enough, but here, a “full” solution was provided.

This construction adds to the height of the watch, but is technically and optically very much appealing.

Besides that, other parts of the movement are very well made, too, such as the gold-toned screw balance, which runs in two inhouse Bishock protections and whose hairspring is regulated by a regulating system with a long arm. Visually nice and technically useful. To complete the good construction, the anchor wheel is located under a cap jewel on the movement side.

Finally, this movement uses - of course - a yoke winding mechanism on the dial side.
