Kienzle 48/4

Description

An unusally nicely decorated Kienzle movement is the caliber 48/5 shown here. It is one of the earliest Kienzle wristwatch movements, probably originating pre WW II.

The nicely with centric rings decorated movement of 10 1/2 lignes diameter contains a golden-toned ring balance with screw-like applications and a long regulator arm on the balance cock. The balance axle is beared in four jewels, but of course not shock protected.
The pin lever movement with a decentral second hand at “6” is constructed the familiar way - all bearings are under one single plate, only the mainspring barrel can be released individually by a screw.

On the dial side, you see the familiar rocking bar winding mechanism, but at least, the click mechanism consinsts of a true click and a click spring - a detail, which is missing on many other pin lever movements of other manufacturers. Additionally, the cut-out for the anchor is sufficiently large, which makes a service easy for watchmakers.
