Description
This swiss handwinding movement with seven jewels was made for export into the USA, which can be seen on the “CXS” signature.
On the construction and especially the characteristic anchor wheel cock, it looks like it originates from AS. Unlike all other known AS movements, it is not fully jewelled, but has got only seven jewels. Nevertheless it has got a true swiss anchor escapement, a non shock protected nickel screw balance and an indirectly driven center second hand.
The movement has got a diameter of 10 1/2 lignes and has got a broken mainspring and a defective keyless works.
Since on the hands and dial there are large portions of unknown luminous paint, I did not remove remove it and look for markers on the dial plate, but in the meantime, it could be identified as an AS 1007.
