Description
In the 1960ies, AS experimented to find out if a winding mechanism, winding in both directions is better, than a winding mechanism, winding only in one direction. For this, in that movement, the winding mechanism was an exchangeable module, located between “6” and “7”.
In the movement shown here, a caliber 1749, which extended the base caliber AS 1748 by a date mechanism, the winding module for only one direction was built in and so the movement winds only conterclockwise.
