Description
In the early 1950s, Certina (Kurth Freres) brought that 15 jewel hand-wound movement Certina 19-10 on the market. With its 8 3/4 ligne (19.10mm) diameter, it was intended for ladies' watches.
The edge of the bridges are slightly bevelled, which ensured a minimal reduction of the necessary housing height. At that time particularly flat watches were in high demand.
In this movement, not only were all the important bearings were equipped with rubies; it also offered a very nice looking perlage in the places you can see.
Very classic, and therefore typical of the 1950s is the gear train. The barrel drives the central minute wheel directly, followed by the third wheel, fourth wheel at 6 o’clock and the very filigree steel escape wheel.
The fourth wheel axle is prolonged on the dial side and carries the decentral seconds hand.
A swiss pallet anchor escapement is used as the escapement, which is regulated by a monometallic, two-leg screw balance.
The balance is already protected against shocks in two Incabloc bearings, and its exact frequency of 18000 alternations per hour be regulated via a long regulator hand.
There is also a beautiful sunray finish on the dial side, a detail that is rarely seen on movements.
Of course, the Certina 19-10 uses a yoke winding system.
