Description
An unusual quartz movement is the Citizen E101M, also known as “Eco-Drive”, which is solar-powered.
Without the solar module, it would be a quartz movement that’s neither particularly small nor very large, displaying hours, minutes, seconds, day, and day of the week.
Power and storage of the solar energy is provided by a Panasonic MT 621 lithium coin cell battery Panasonic MT 621, with a voltage of 1.5V and a capacity of 2.5 mAh.
A solar module with four cells is responsible for generating electricity.
This solar panel is attached to the dial side of the movement.
The Citizen E101M offers a bilingual day-of-the-week display, here in Spanish and English.
A blue, semi-transparent plastic dial is mounted onto the solar module, concealing the solar cells.
Here you can clearly see how translucent it is.
The dial has a significantly larger diameter than the movement + solar module.
