Description
The Durowe 50 caliber dates back to the 1940s and was a form movement for small, fashionable ladies’ watches at the time.
It is (for the time being) fully equipped with bearing jewels, 15 in total, and it is aesthetically very pleasing with its beveled edges and a gold-colored finish, which harmonizes beautifully with the stron red jewels. The latter are of high quality, with well executed oil deposits.
Technically, there is nothing to complain about either; the rather large gears promise high operational reliability and good accuracy.
The design of the gear train follows the usual standard with the mainspring barrel, center minute wheel, third wheel, seconds wheel, and finally the filigree steel escape wheel.
The balance of this 5 1/4 ligne movement, which beats with 18,000 semi-oscillations per hour, has compensating screws on the rim, but is not yet shock-proof.
A long regulator arm with a scale on the balance cock is used to adjust the beat rate.
On the dial side you can clearly see the yoke winding mechanism and the Durowe hallmark.

After a cleaning, this movement ran so strong, that the balance bounces and so falsified the timegrapher reports.| horizontal positions | |||
