Description
The 10 1/2 ligne FEF 190 is a very typical representative of windup movements, as the became popular in the 1940s.
The execution is, typical for FEF, very well done; of course, all important bearings contain rubies.
The gear train follows the common standard, with directly driven center minute wheel, third wheel, seconds wheel at 6 o’clock (with a prolonged axis on the dial side for carrying the decentral seconds hand) and a very filigree escape wheel, made of steel.
Of course, a swiss plallet lever escapement is used, regulared by a monometallic screw balance with two legs.
The balance beats with 18000 A/h and can be adjusted with a long regulator arm.
Since in the 1940s, shock protections were an exception, this movement does not yet have a shock protection for the balance wheel.
Also on the dial side, this movement is pretty standard and well made, and you can see the pretty large setting lever spring for the yoke keyless works.
At position 9 o’clock, you see the cap jewel and its bearing tile for the balance wheel. This Tile has got an indentiation with a tab, which makes its positioning with the help of a pointed tweezers easier.
