Description
Originally from Citizen, here as license build from the Indian HMT, is the form caliber for ladies’ watches HMT 0180A.
It has got the common size of 6 3/4 x 8 lignes for this kind of movement.
The execution is fair standard. Of course, all important bearings contain synthetic rubies, even the dial side bearing of the mainspring barrel. Interestingly, there’s ruby for the dial side bearing of the minute wheel.
Don’t expect any surprises on the gear train. It consists of mainspring barrel, minute wheel, third wheel, seconds wheel and escape wheel.
Minute wheel, third wheel and seconds wheel are in one line with the crown, and the two bottom bearings of third- and seconds wheel are above the pretty large escape wheel for space saving reasons.
The two leg anular Glucydur balance is beared in two Citizen Parashock-3 shock protection bearings.
Although there’s a scale on the balance cock, you can adjust the beating rate only on the hairspring key directly, and the hairspring stud is not moveable. Technically, at its time being, that wasn’t state of the art any more.
On the dial side, you can spot the yoke keyless works, where on the specimen shown here, the setting lever spring is already broken.
