Description
1925, MST lauchned their caliber series 202, to which from 1933 on, the caliber MST 242 belonged, a 10 1/2 ligne windup movement.
It still has got the “LTG” hallmark, which stands for “L.Tieche Gammeter”, a watchmaker from Solothurn, which registered the brand “Roamer” a fews years before and merged in 1917 with Meyer & Stüdeli (MST).
With 15 jewels, this movement resembled the standards of a “good” pallet lever movement from the 1930s.
We have the classical gear train here, well made with fine executed gears. It consists of the center minute wheel, third wheel, seconds wheel at 6 o’clock and the steel escape wheel.
The two leg screw balance controls a pallet lever escapement and beats with 18000 A/h. They can be regulated with a long regulator arm.
A shock protection is not available, since it was no standard at that time.
On the dial side, you can see the filigree setting lever spring, which makes the identification of the movement easy.
