Description
The Otero 46 is a mens' size movement with a diameter of 10 1/2 lignes, directly driven decentral second hand at “6” and 17 jewels. The anchor wheel uses one cap jewel.
On this movement, the mainspring plate is notable, since it only bears the mainspring but has got no mechanism on it, since the mainspring is wound with a rocking bar mechanism on the dial side. This means, that the click spring is also located there.
The mainspring drives the minute wheel, which has got a very thick axle. It wouldn’t have needed a jewel bearing, but for longevity and marketing purposes, this was an easy way to implement seventeen jewels.
The rather tiny screw balance is beared in two shock protections of the Trishock-type. There’s no long regulator arm for the hairspring, but a short dial for a simple regulation.
Altogether, this movement is one of the better german pallet achor movements and because of that it is quite rare and hard to find.
