Poljot 2602

Description

The First Moscow Watch Factory (later called “Poljot”) obtained the construction papers and machines of the Lip R-26 caliber from Lip in 1937. Of that, it developed the “Pobjeda” caliber series of pretty high level windup movements with decentral seconds indication, which was later made in half a dozen watch factories.

The Poljot 2602 is the base version of the 11 1/2 ligne “Pobjeda” movement.

Poljot 2602: base plate

base plate

The base plate is executed very well and shows the high quality of this movement. All important bearings contain rubies and the plates are nicely decorated with angled cotes and stripe decorations.

Poljot 2602: gear train

gear train

The Poljot 2602 uses the classical gear train with directly driven center minute wheel, followed by third wheel, decentral center seconds wheel at 6 o’clock and finally then steel escape wheel.

As escapement, a conventional swiss plallet lever escapement is used.

The golden toned screw balance is not yet shock protected. Its screws are located on the same distances on the balance wheel ring, which means, that they were probably not used for poising the balance, but for aesthetic purposes.

A very nice detail is the Breguet-like hairspring, whose effective length can be regulated by a long regulator arm. It hardly goes better than this.

Poljot 2602: Dial side

On the dial side, there’s only a simple radial decoration. Besides this, you can see the rugged setting lever spring, which will last forever!

In the lab

This movement came without case into the archive and got a simple service.

Timegrapher result

For a movement of this age, the rates are pretty well!
