Raketa 2603

Description

The probably best and most beautiful version of the “Pobjeda” caliber family, which originally goes back to the LIP R-26, is the caliber Raketa 2603, a full size 11 1/2 ligne windup movement with decentral seconds indication and a shock protection, here in the second generation.

As you can see, of course all important bearings contain rubies.
Mainspring barrel and balance wheel can use lots of space, while the rest of the gear train only requires few space, which leaves lots of space unused.

The Raketa 2603 uses the classical gear train with mainspring barrel, directly driven center minute wheel, third wheel, decentral seconds wheel at 6 o’clock and the escape wheel.

As escapement, a swiss pallet lever escapement is used.

The golden toned screw balance has got her 16 screws on total at the same distances on the wheel, which looks, like the screws have got only an aesthetical function and not a technical one.

The balance wheel is beared in a pair of shock protections (Incabloc or inhouse) and its beating rate of 18000 A/h can be regulated with an arm, which can be short or long.
In any case, it engages with the Breguet-type shaped hairspring, a sign of good quality.

The use of a small brass plate below the balance cock, the so-called spacer, is typical for russian watches and should compensate different heights of different shock protection systems.

The dial side looks pretty much cleaned up. The setting lever is straight and is held in position with a very rugged spring.

As you can see, the setting lever spring is rugged, too, and shall last long.
