Raketa 2609.HA

Description

As part of the caliber series Raketa 2601.H the caliber Raketa 2609.HA with its indication of hours, minutes and center seconds is probably the most common version.

The suffix .HA denotes the update of the second version of the 26mm windup caliber with three hands and shock protection.

base plate

The 17-jewels movement is a solid construction with jewels on all important bearings, even on those of the center minute wheel.

You can see the classical construction of the gear train on the center minute wheel, which is directly driven by the mainspring barrel and located under its own bridge.

Minute wheel with integrated bearing ruby for the center seconds axle

Very unusual is the ruby bearing of the center seconds axle, which is integrated within(!) the hollow minute wheel axle. Because of that, the center seconds wheel is ruby-beared on both sides.

The minute wheel is followed by identically sized third wheel and center seconds wheel (directly driven). Finally, we have the steel excape wheel, into which the swiss pallet lever escapement engages.

The large, four-leg anular balance, which beats slowly with 18000 A/h, is beared in two russian Poljot shock protections. Its frequency can be adjusted at the hairspring key only.

Raketa 2609.HA: balance spacer

balance spacer

Since there’s the possibility of using different shock protections, for which the distance of balance wheel cock and base plate must be adjusted, the usual, odd, russian solution of putting a flat brass spacer between the balance wheel cock and base plate is used.

Not really beautiful, but effective enough.

Raketa 2609.HA: Dial side

On the dial side, you can see the update in terms of the attached metal frame, fixed by two flaps, which secures hands setting wheel and reverser wheel against slipping out.

The yoke winding system is very rugged made, and you can see the shock protected cap jewel for the escape wheel, which also exists on the movement side.

In the lab

The tested specimen came a bit dirty and over-oiled into the archive and got a simple revision.

Timegrapher result

The tested specimen shows a solid result on the timegrapher. It is noteable, that there’s hardly any difference between vertical and horizontal positions. Normally they would have been in the two-digit range.

horizontal positions
dial up +4 s/d 206° 0.0ms
dial down -1 s/d 205° 0.0ms
vertical positions
crown right (12 up) -12 s/d 202° 0.2ms
crown up (3 up) -5 s/d 209° 0.0ms
crown left (6 up) +8 s/d 201° 0.0ms
crown down (9 up) +-0 s/d 199° 0.2ms
