Rego 129

Description

The Rego 129 was probably launched in the late 1960ies. It is a mixture between an conventional pin lever movement and a Roskopf movement.

gear train

The gear train is on the movement side the same, as on a conventional pin lever movement with directly driven center second. Because of this, the mainspring barrel does not overlap the center of the movement, as it would do on a Roskopf movement.

The balance is shock protected only on the movement side, by a shock protection bearing of the type Palierfix.

The balance beats slowly with 18000 A/h and regulates the movement with a specially shaped pin lever. All gears, including the mainspring barrel, are located under one bridge, and you can imagine, that fitting five axels simultaneously under that bridge is not that easy.

For a pin lever movement it’s a bit unusual, that the balance assembly has got a long regulator arm and a moveable hairspring stud, also with a long regulating arm.

The pin on the left side of the pin pallet fork, intervenes into the base plate and ensure, that even on extreme deflection, the filigree pins don’t break, since the pin on the left limits the deflection.

On the dial side, there are two specialities:

First, the hour and minute wheel, protected against slipping, are driven by a loosely coupled wheel on the mainspring barrel, just like on a Roskopf movement.

Second, the date indicator mechanism is a very simple one, with a riveted wheel, riveted spring and a quickset mechanism, consisting only of a spring and a special shaped sheet metal at 9 o’clock. It’s hard to believe, but that construction really works!

There’s also the yoke winding system on the dial side, and there’s no shock protecting bearing for the balance wheel.
