Unknown pocket watch movement

Description

This 18 ligne pocket watch movement was drawn out of a box with spare parts.

It was in very bad condition, completely dirty and almost all bearing jewels were cracked. The latter could not be resolved, but after a cleaning procedure, the movement was brought back to life again.

base plate

base plate

The base place tells, that this is a movement of fair quality, since it uses a swiss pallet lever movement and has got all bearings equipped with synthetic rubies.

gear train

gear train

This movement uses the classical gear train with directly driven center minute wheel, third wheel and seconds wheel at 6 o’clock-

The non shock-protected screw balance beats with 1800 A/h and regulates a classical swiss pallet lever movement. The balance wheel cock is even a bit decorated.

In the side view, you see, that here was worked “out of the full”, with the milled depthings for the gears into the massive base plate. This is important for precision and stability.

On the dial side, you see the yoke winding system, which is already controlled by the crown and no longer needs a lateral pusher. You also see the pretty small setting lever spring. Altough its shape is pretty unique, it did not help identifying the movement.
