China 2650G

Description

A derivative of the China Standard Movement is the gilt skeletonized version, called as China 2650G.

It has the unchanged diameter of 11 1/2 lignes.

China 2650G: base plate

base plate

Besides a color error, the base plate looks pretty ok, but is very crudely executed. But on the other hand, all bearings contain rubies. Not high quality rubies, but simple, completely flat ones without oil storages.

China 2650G: center minute wheel

center minute wheel

The center minute wheel is ruby-beared on both pivots.

China 2650G: gear train

gear train

The China 2650G has got the standard gear train consisting of mainspring barrel, directly driven center minute wheel, third wheel, directly driven center seconds wheel and finally the steel escape wheel for the pallet lever escapement.

The rather large four-leg anular balance in beared in a pair of inhouse shock protections. It beats with 21600 A/h and can be adjusted (more or less) on the hairspring key directly.

China 2650G: lower side mainspring barrel

lower side mainspring barrel

In this skeleton version, the floor of the mainspring barrel is open, so that you can see from the dial side, how far the movement is wound up.

China 2650G: very simple ratchet

very simple ratchet

The ratchet is as simple as genious, it consists of only one part, a round spring, which blocks the ratchet wheel.

China 2650G: China 2650G: Dial side

China 2650G: Dial side

Unfortunately, the specimen of the chinese caliber 2650G has got a coloring error on the dial side too, because of which a part of the gilt coloring is missing. Nevertheless, this movements allows nice views, how a movement works.

Of course, a yoke winding system is used, and, since a skeleton watch has got no dial, the hour wheel is held in position with an own spring cover.

In the lab

This movement came slightly gummed into the archive, got a cleaning, was olied and adjusted.

Timegrapher result

For the simple execution of this movement, which lacks any fine treatment, the rates are surprisingly well!
