Description
The Venus 54 is an ellipse-shaped ladies' watch movement with a swiss pallet lever escapement and 15 rubies.
Video on YouTubeIt is a direct relative to the Venus calibers 51 to 53; the differences between them are yet unknown.
These kind of form movements were only used for a short peroid of time.
The gear construction is a very typical one. The ring balance is probably still be made of bimetal, the two cuts which allow the expanding of the half-wheels is already missing; there’s only a lookalike small cutoff on top of the balance ring.
The balance is not yet shock protected and beats with contemporarily slow 18000 A/h.
On the Venus 54, the bearing rubis are of high quality. You see this on the fact, that they are not flat, but contain small oil reservoirs which protect the axles.
This movement has got a yoke winding system. It’s setting lever spring has got a characteristical cutout in a quad shape.
