There was a very nice donation by Marius in October 2023:
His granddad gave him a few old watches that he was supposed to dispose of but he luckily stopped by the movement archive and asked if it was worth making them available to the archive - the result is clear :-)
The special thing about these watches is that for some of them, personal details are known. For example, the pocket watch of his great-grandfather in which a Cortebert 474 is installed was according to the inscription a Christmas present from 1905, and his great-grandfather, who was an officer in the First World War and there was seriously wounded. reported, that watch often had problems, because she was “over-wound. It came to the archive with a broken balance wheel, what was probably the real problem.
Another watch, a rather small, tonneau-shaped men’s watch with a a Förster 2075, belonged to his grandfather himself, and was used from the beginning used from his school days around 1937 until he began his studies in 1950. Here is the balance spring defective and one hand is missing.
There was also a very nice women’s watch, probably a converted necklace watch, unfortunately with an unidentifiable cylinder movement.
There are also two supposed brand watches, which of course are nothing have to do with the original and have quartz movements, and an anonymous quartz watch with the very late Junghans quartz caliber 669.31, and a Revue men’s watch in which a ETA 2472 is installed, labeled as MSR T.26.
As soon as the watches and movements are officially added to the archive, they will be linked here.
