Seiko 2206A

Description

The Seiko 2206A is a technically interesting ladies' watch movement from Japan.

The small, but rather fat selfwinding movement impresses by its features, since it can display hours, minutes and seconds as well, as day and weekday.

The mainspring is wound by a bidirectional turning rotor, which works on a rocking bar mechanism. The Glucydur balance of the 2206A beats with fast 28800 A/h and achieves a good precision.

An interesting detail of this movement is, that the center second hand is driven indirectly by gears below the selfwinding plate.
